The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (dtic) released a Gazette in December 2023 outlining amendments to the BBBEE requirements of APDP 2. The amendment established two routes for Generic companies to comply with BBBEE requirements:
1.Achieve BBBEE level 6 by January 2024 and BBBEE level 4 by January 2025; OR
2.Participate in the Transformation Fund. The Transformation Fund has no impact on the BBBEE scorecard and has an entry requirement of applicants being BBBEE level 8 by January 2024 and B-BBEE level 6 by January 2025.
With respect to point 2, the APDP2 Transformation Fund, administered by the AITF, is officially open for applications. The application form and Fund Guidelines are included on the AITF website (www.autofund.co.za).
Interested companies can submit the completed application, including supporting documents to APDP2Fund@autofund.co.za. Companies are reminded that applications will be reviewed on a continuous basis and there is no closing date for application.
Any queries regarding Fund participation can be direct to info@autofund.co.za
